Introducing Paul “Crazy Legs” Stofko

We are proud to introduce a contributor to our IceSpike blog, Paul “Crazy Legs” Stofko. Here are a few words from Paul to help you get to know him…

About Me:

In grade school I was very overweight. The constant name calling and my low-esteem took a toll on me. During high school I decided to do something about it and began running. I started completing in 5ks, 10ks, half-marathon and marathons but after two hundred of those races I was ready for a new challenge. While attending college at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona I was introduced to the sport of Ultra running. Ultramarathons have spurred my passion for running again and I have competed in races from 50k to 150 miles.

People ask me why I run ultramarathons. I believe we all have a burning passion in our hearts that must be expressed and I think mine is expressed through my running. I look forward to test the limits of my body both mentally and physically. We must carry that same passion through our lives. I know running has made me the person I am today. So I try to share my passion with others through coaching, race directing and as an exercise specialist.

Quote I live by:

“When we are motivated by goals that have deep meaning, by dreams that need completion, by pure love that need expressing, then we truly live life.”

Believe in yourself,

Paul “Crazy Legs” Stofko
